It begins when you reach out to book your fitting.
I recommend securing your bridal alterations as soon as your gown is ordered, as I am often fully booked six months or more in advance.
Your first fitting is usually scheduled around 8 to 12 weeks before your wedding, allowing time to shape your gown with care and precision.
If you are planning bespoke changes or design additions, a longer lead time may be needed.
All fittings take place by appointment at my private bridal studio near Somerton in Somerset, between Yeovil and Glastonbury.
Your fittings are where your gown begins to take shape.
Together, we will assess the fit, refine the structure, and carefully pin each adjustment to ensure the gown sits beautifully and moves as it should.
This is a considered process, where every detail is shaped with precision.
You will need to bring your wedding shoes, along with the underwear you plan to wear on the day, as these directly affect the fit and balance of your gown.
If you are unsure about these, we can guide you through the best options at your first appointment.
Your gown is prepared for collection, pressed and finished so it is ready for your wedding day.
At this stage, every adjustment has been carefully completed to ensure your dress feels balanced, comfortable, and completely your own.
Collection is usually arranged as close to your wedding day as possible.

Most gowns can be adjusted by two to three sizes. Anything beyond that may still be possible, but it usually involves more complex work or creative solutions. I’ll happily look at your gown with you and advise on the best options for achieving the perfect fit.
Yes, absolutely. Making bespoke changes is what I do. From adding embellishment or making sleeves, adding a corset back or changing the neckline, or perhaps restyling the skirt or adding an overlay. The list is endless!
Each dress is different, and every bride is unique and so it is difficult to give a precise cost. However, as a guide the average cost for bridal alterations is between £450-£690. Once I have seen you in your dress, at your first fitting, I will be able to give you an accurate invoice.
It is essential that you bring your wedding shoes, along with the correct underwear that you will wear with your dress on your wedding day to all fittings. These will affect the fit of your gown. If you are unsure or undecided on these items, then please let me know before your first fitting so we can decide on the best options for you.
