Get in touch as soon as you’ve chosen your wedding dress. My diary fills up well in advance, so it’s always best to get in touch early.
Your first fitting will usually be around three months before your wedding, giving us plenty of time to work on the fit and make any adjustments along the way.

At your first fitting, we’ll look at how your dress fits, how she feels and any changes you’d like to make. I’ll talk you through everything as we go, so you know exactly what I’m doing and why.
Most brides have three fittings, giving us time to check the fit at each stage and make any little adjustments along the way.
Please bring your wedding shoes and the underwear or shapewear you plan to wear on your wedding day to every fitting, as these can make a difference to how your dress fits.

Why should I choose to book with you?
From your first fitting through to collection, it’s just you and me. Fittings are relaxed and private, but never too serious.
I only take on a limited number of brides, which means there's time to really get to know you and your dress. I do everything myself here in my Somerset studio, so I'm with you right the way through.
I’ve been fitting my gorgeous brides and their beautiful dresses here since 2002. And I still absolutely love that moment when everything comes together and your dress feels complete.
When should I book my wedding dress alterations?
Get in touch as soon as you’re choosing your dress. You don’t need to wait until she’s arrived at the boutique before booking your alterations.
Alterations usually begin around 3 months before your wedding, with your fittings arranged across the weeks leading up to the day.
My diary does fill several months in advance, particularly for spring and summer weddings, so getting in touch early gives you the best choice of dates.
If you’re planning more significant changes to your dress, it’s worth getting in touch earlier so we have more time to talk through what you have in mind.
How many sizes can my dress be altered?
Most wedding dresses can be adjusted up or down in size.
How we do that will depend on the style and construction of your dress, and what fabrics, lace or other materials we have available to work with.
If you’re unsure, get in touch and I can take a look at your dress and talk you through what’s possible.
Can I change the style of my wedding gown?
Absolutely. Changing the design of a wedding dress is a big part of what I do.
That could mean adding sleeves, changing a neckline, creating a corset back, reshaping the skirt or adding new details to make her feel more like you.
Every dress is different, so bring me your ideas and we can look at what we can create together.
How much do wedding dress alterations cost?
Every dress is different, so the cost will depend on the alterations she needs.
As a guide, alterations start from £350, with most brides spending between £450 and £750.
If you’d like an idea of cost before booking, get in touch and tell me a little about your dress and what you’d like to change.
What should I bring to my bridal fitting?
Bring the shoes and underwear you plan to wear on your wedding day to each fitting, as both can affect how your dress fits and the finished length.
If you haven’t decided on either yet, just let me know before your first fitting.
What happens once the alterations have been finished?
Once your alterations are complete, I’ll carry out my final checks to make sure every detail is just right.
At your collection appointment, you’ll try her on one last time before taking her home, so we can make sure everything feels as it should.
Can I bring guests with me to my fitting appointment?
You’re very welcome to bring one guest with you to your fitting. My studio is a small, private space, so keeping fittings to just you and one guest means there’s plenty of room for us to work comfortably.
What if my weight fluctuates?
If you know your body is likely to change before your fittings, just let me know.
It helps me plan your fittings and decide when certain adjustments are best made, so we can get the fit just right for your wedding day.
What if I'm pregnant or have recently had a baby?
If you’ll be pregnant on your wedding day or have recently had your baby, let me know as early as you can.
We can plan your fitting dates around you and leave certain alterations until the right time, allowing for any changes along the way.
